What personally identifiable information is collected
PointBase gathers two kinds of data on visitors to our Web site:
- Information voluntarily provided by you, e.g. that provided in registration forms.
- Web tracking information, such as web pages visited, domain, browser type, etc. We use cookies to identify users uniquely. You may still visit our site even if you turn cookies off.
How the information is being used
We use this information:
- To tailor the Web pages served to you by keeping track of your unique profile
- To provide us with aggregate information on what parts of our Web site are most useful and visited
- To fulfill a product or evaluation copy order
- To keep you informed via email of recent happenings and events at PointBase
Sharing information
Based upon your explicit permission only, PointBase will make your email address and other related information available to partner companies for targeted email campaigns by means of a bonded mail house. Unless this explicit permission is granted to PointBase, no disclosure of any individual's information will be made available.
Your choices
You may decline to provide the information we ask for.
- You may turn off cookies in your browser. We would then not be able to identify you when you return to our site, and you would not benefit from an approach more tailored to your viewing history and preferences. We would still collect some basic information like your domain name, pages visited, etc., but none of this information would be traceable to you individually since it is aggregated.
- You may decline to supply us with address and credit card information. We would then be unable to process your product order.
- You may decline to be placed on our mailing list, or you may request to be removed.
Security procedures
PointBase treats all information we gather at least as securely as we treat our own financial data or information we deem Company Confidential. We do not disclose the data we collect to any other parties.
For transmission of credit card information over the Internet, we use SSL, the standard secure HTTP protocol.
