PointBase Secures Financing From NEC
NEC investment is part of a $25 million round of financing to enable worldwide marketing of PointBase platform independent data management and synchronization products
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA., Sept. 20, 2000 — PointBase, the leader in platform independent technology for data management and synchronization, announced today that NEC Corporation, Tokyo, participated in its $25 million E-series financing. The investment is supporting PointBase's efforts to penetrate emerging markets for multi-tiered data management and synchronization for mobile/wireless and embedded software applications.

"The investment will help us to solidify our position of worldwide leadership in mobile wireless data management and synchronization. Goldman Sachs and JK&B Capital led the round of PointBase financing, announced in June, with participation by other well-known investors. PointBase now has received $37.5 million in financing. Other investors include DataMirror, Aspen Ventures and AVI Capital Management.
