PointBase Signs First International Distributor, OGIS-RI Of Japan

More international deals expected soon as the leader in mobile wireless 100% Pure Java data management expands its distribution

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, May 22, 2000 PointBase, the leader in mobile wireless 100% Pure Java data management products, today announced the signing of its first international distributor, OGIS-RI, as the exclusive distributor of PointBase products in Japan. OGIS-RI (Osaka Gas Information System Research Institute Co., Ltd.), a leading developer and systems integrator of object and Internet technologies in the Japanese market, plans to develop a network of PointBase resellers, and to sell to and support PointBase users, as well. The deal is the first in a series of international distribution arrangements PointBase plans, to extend the reach of the company's sales and support efforts.

Central to the relationship is the use of PointBase's Mobile Edition, Embedded Server and Network Server database products, which incorporate PointBase's universal synchronization option - UniSync. UniSync v3.3 provides transparent, bi-directional, multi-tiered, heterogeneous data synchronization between databases, including PointBase and enterprise databases. The PointBase collection of products enable OGIS-RI to develop 100% Pure Java, distributed, database-driven applications that support e-commerce, mobile work forces and the distribution of enterprise data onto Internet appliances and devices.
