and Transformation Server for Mobile, which provides bi-directional data synchronization.
Product Information
Q. Are all PointBase products written entirely in Java?
All PointBase products are entirely written in Java, and leverage all the
benefits of Java-portability, security and Unicode internationalization.
Q. What is PointBase Embedded?
PointBase Embedded is a platform-independent, embedded relational database
written entirely in Java and supporting platforms with Java 2 Enterprise
Edition (J2EE™), Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE™) and Java 2 Micro
Edition (J2ME™ CDC). It complies with SQL 92 and key features of SQL99
standards. PointBase Embedded can be integrated directly within the Java
application, making it completely transparent to the end user. It offers a
small footprint (around 1MB), comprehensive security and zero administration.
PointBase Embedded can be deployed to be accessed by a single application or in
a client/server environment with multiple applications with a Server Option.

the datasheet.
Q. What is PointBase Micro?
PointBase Micro is a platform-independent Java relational database optimized to
run on the Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME™ CDC and CLDC/MIDP) and J2SE
platforms. It has an ultra-compact footprint (45K for J2ME MIDP) and can be
easily integrated within a Java application, making it transparent to users
from the time of deployment. It comes in two editions:
-
CLDC/MIDP Profile: Examples of devices using this version of J2ME are PDAs and
Java-enabled phones.
-
CDC or Personal Java Profile: Examples include the PocketPC and notebooks
running J2SE on Microsoft Windows. Some mobile devices are also equipped with a
J2SE environment, such as the Sharp Zaurus SL-5500.

the datasheet.
Q. What is Transformation Server for Mobile?
Transformation Server for Mobile is a Java API that allows developers to easily synchronize
data between databases residing on mobile platforms and corporate back-end
databases. It supports platform-independent, bi-directional synchronization
with Oracle®, Microsoft SQL Server® and other JDBC-compliant databases.
Its powerful and flexible publish-and-subscribe model supports either
incremental delta changes or full-snapshot changes.
